The Government has recently introduced legislative changes that allow for longer prescription durations of up to 12 months for certain medications, where it is safe and clinically appropriate to do so.
This change came into effect 1 February 2026.
What this means?
From 1 February 2026, prescribers may be able to issue prescriptions for up to 12 months for certain medications, where this is safe and clinically appropriate.
Please note that this change does not mean that all patients will automatically receive a 12‑month prescription, nor does it guarantee that a longer prescription will be suitable for everyone. The length of a prescription remains a clinical decision, based on your individual health needs, the medication prescribed, and what is considered safest and most appropriate for you.
If you would like to discuss whether you may be eligible for a longer prescription, please speak with your doctor at your next in‑person appointment.

UPDATE
We had issues with the sending of email appointment reminders. This should now be resolved from 1 January 2025.

ORIGINAL NOTICE
Starting from the 17 December 2024, the practice will be switching to email appointment reminders.
We will no longer be sending appointment reminders via SMS.
These will now come to you by email, 24 hours prior to your appointment.

Apologies our phone system hour settings have not worked as expected today 23 December 2024.
The phones will be answered between 10AM & 3PM Monday, Tuesday and Friday over the next two weeks during our reduced operating hours.
