Hi I’m Jacques – Principal General Practitioner and Practice Owner.

I first started working at 7 Cashel Street as a locum GP after leaving the hospital in 1989. I have remained with Doctors on Cashel throughout all of its transitions to what it is today.

Whilst in the hospital I gained experience in the following areas;

General practice, ophthalmology, psychiatry, radiology and intervention radiology, general medicine, general surgery, vascular surgery, orthopaedics, spinal, rehabilitation medicine, ENT, paediatrics, geriatrics, rheumatology, dermatology, plastic surgery, neurology, gynaecology, obstetrics, cardiology and coronary care.

I am passionate about supporting patients across all aspects of their physical and mental health. I enjoy working through complex or challenging cases, which often feel like detective work, and finding solutions that may not be immediately obvious. Thinking outside the square allows me to adapt my approach and provide care that is personalised to each patient's needs.

When I am not at work I enjoy the outdoors, gardening and a DIY project.

Qualifications: MB ChB (Otago), Batchelor or Medicine, Batchelor of Surgery, FRNZCGP

Special areas of interest: Minor surgery, Skin checks, Joint Injections, No Scalpel Vasectomies, Brain injury, Mental Health, Child Health.

Languages spoken: English, limited French and limited Hvartski (Croatian)
